These gluten free crackers are easy to make and they are everything I want in a cracker. They are crunchy but not too hard and firm enough to be a perfect vessel for dips.

I started making my own crackers when I couldn’t find what I wanted in stores. I quickly realized that I was saving a lot of money making them at home and I was able to avoid soy, corn, starches, oil and other ingredients I didn’t want. These are also a great option if you are trying to consume fewer carbs.

I like to serve these with dips and veggie slices. Let me know if you try them! I’d love to see how you serve them.

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Combine the almond flour, flax meal, hemp seeds, italian seasoning, salt and garlic powder in a medium bowl.
  • Add the water to the dry ingredients. Stir well with a fork to combine. The mixture may seem dry at first but keep stirring it until it forms a ball of dough.
  • Place the dough between two sheets of parchment. Roll out to 2 mm thickness.
  • Remove the top parchment and, using a bread knife, slice the dough into your preferred shape (triangles or rectangles are great).
  • Place the cut dough and the parchment paper it is on onto a baking sheet.
  • Bake at 375F for 10 minutes. At this point, remove the pan from the oven and break apart the crackers on the lines you scored. Seperate the crackers so there is space between them and move the crackers from the center of the pan out towards the edge so they get evenly cooked (the crackers at the edge of pan will cook faster).
  • Bake the crackers for an additional 8-10 minutes, until they are just starting to brown.
  • Cool on a cooling rack.
